A code is still recurring, namely, 23C1, a Bmw official code from the INPA. The code referring to Lambda probe in front of catalytic converter, trimming control. A more generic code detected this code, "P2096", this code referring to Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean Bank 1. Ya ,, make sure the starter itself works . Then make sure the pump is actually pumping gas to the rail and not just hearing it buzz . Also make sure that power itself at the plug is getting to the starter . If all that checks out good you can proceed with a module or relay problem. A.

color code it took a few times looking under the hood to find mine. I was told it was on the strut tower. But it was located on the driver side, under the hood, to the right of the brake fluid reservoir, on the inside of the fender in the engine compartment. Hard to explain but thats where mine was. The color and code were there. good luck
The label with the name and code is typically located on the strut tower on most BMW models. Some models such as the E39 may have the label located under the hood itself.
