Hey all! I've had Forza 5 on the game pass for a few weeks now but i'm trying to move my progress to steam as i've bought the game over on steam.
Then run the game load your save file, save the game once more. Close the game and check save file sync on steam. I hope that helped, I would post you links and every step by step with details but this comment would be ridiculously long.
This may work for some of you who have lost some or all progress in fh 5. I do not have cloud save enabled on this system so this may not work . with that here is how i recovered about 90% of an entire progression loss, due to a reinstall of fh5. there is 2 directories to be concerned with. if you are lucky there will be a directory in C:\\Users\\YOURUSERNAME\\AppData\\Local\\ForzaHorizon5
So even if you have steam cloud saves turned on, MAKE A COPY. If it gets corrupted, as soon as you load the game back up, the cloud save gets corrupted. Meaning you have to start over. Don't bother with a lost data ticket because they won't respond. Also, if you got it through the MS store the save isn't compatible with the steam version. Hey
Despite what some claim here, it is possible to transfer the save files from Forza Horizon 5 xbox gamepass/xbox store version to Forza Horizon 5 Steam version.
1. Log into your Xbox Live Account, If you use your main account make sure to be extra careful with the unreleased cars. 2. Start the game and drive around for 30 seconds or so, then exit the game. 3. Open up windows explorer and in the directory bar copy and paste this: "C:\Users\Spoezy\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.SunriseBaseGame
